respect for fellow students and instructors
Atelier Delska is a safe learning space where we celebrate the diversity of fellow makers & sewists. By registering for any Delska program, you are agreeing to contribute to a positive inclusive atmosphere for all fellow sewists & the instructor. Fashion sewing can be closely linked to  body, gender & cultural identity. Disrespect and abuse will NOT be tolerated. The instructor reserves the right  to ask you to leave the class if you engage in derogatory or abusive behaviour toward your fellow classmates or instructor. If you are asked to leave class, you will not be granted a refund.
minimum attendance requirements
We reserve the right to cancel classes that do not reach the minimum capacity to run the class. Cancellation notices will go out  a week prior to the start date. If the instructor cancels the class, you will receive a full refund, a transfer to another class time, or credit for a future class (student's choice).
age & gender limits
Unless otherwise stated, all in-studio classes and maker days are 16+, and are open to all genders. A one-person private curtained non-gendered changeroom is available for students when trying on their garments.
cancellations by school
We reserve the rights to cancel a class due to unforeseen circumstance up to one day before the programmed event. In this case, students will be granted a full refund for the cancelled class, or they may transfer their fees to a rescheduled time for the class (student's choice).
cancellations by students
Please make every effort to check your schedule before registering for a class/maker day. All registrations include a non-refundable fee.
Early Cancellation: Students who cancel their attendance prior to the one-week period before a program  will be granted a Delska store credit for the value of 50% of the cost of their class fee (less any transaction/registration fees). This may be used to reschedule another class.
Late Cancellation: The class fee is defaulted to  non-refundable as of a period of one week  before the date of the start of a program. Out of respect for the instructor's right to be compensated for their time, we can not guarantee a refund to students who are unable to attend a class/maker day.
Exceptions: Occasionally,  a waitlisted/new student is able to take the spot of a cancellation. In this case, a refund (less any transaction/registration fees), may be granted.
maker days
Please be respectful that you will be sharing your space and instructor's guidance time with fellow participants. Be considerate of fellow makers before bringing projects that may dominate the physical space of the sewing room. Because these are casual programs without a class focus, we can't guarantee your instructor's expertise & experience in your particular project.  It is best to share your project details with the instructor before arriving if you are looking for extra assistance.
available studio tools
The Delska studio contains many tools and supplies to help you on your sewing journey. They include- pins, scissors, a large cutting table, 3 large tables with 5 chairs for students,  a size 6 and size 12 feminine dressform, a size 38 chest masculine form, dressform padding, fashion, fashion history & sewing books, iron & ironing board, a pressing ham, a clothing steamer, a private one-person changeroom, two large floor-length mirrors, a serger, mock-up fabric, pattern paper. If you're unsure if a certain tool is available, please reach out prior to your program date.
physical accessibility
The unfortunately reality is that the Delska studio is not currently accessible to all potential students. There is a stone rubble path before arriving at the entrance, and are two stairs to enter the studio. There are also three stairs to access the washroom facilities.
